Elvis Costello-Secret,Profane & Sugarcane

This came out in 2009 and is mainly acoustic with Elvis trying his hand at Bluegrass,Americana, and Country music. Not real crazy about any of the songs, some are very slow, but I do like “Complicated Shadows” and a Bluegrass style cover of “Femme Fatale”. One highpoint of the record is the fiddle playing of Stuart Duncan and Jim Lauderdale on backing vocals. Lauderdale is a bluegrass artist who I have seen at Merlefest a couple of times and has worked with Donna The Buffalo, one of my favorite bands. Costello has put out many records in many different styles but I still like his first three the best.
