Julian Cope-Fried

This is the second album from this eccentric Englishman released in 1984. Julian Cope was a member of The Teardrop Explodes, a psychedelic pop band of the late 70’s. In his later years he has become interested in Paganism and has written books about ancient sites in Britain, like Stonehenge, and a book about Krautrock. My second favorite record by him the best being his masterpiece Peggy Suicide. Still looking for that on vinyl. I like every song, hard to say which side I like best. Some of my favorites are “Me Singing”,”Sunspots”,”The Bloody Assizes”,O King Of Chaos”,and “Torpedo”.Some songs are just Julian playing guitar and singing. He put out three more albums and two lo-fi limited release records before 1991’s Peggy Suicide. These all had some good songs on them. Unfortunately many of his titles are hard to find on vinyl. I had many of his albums on cassette and CD but they are all gone. This is the only record I have but I keep looking for more. I bought this used sometime in the 90’s and is a British import. Out of print fora long time I don’t know if it has ever been re-issued on vinyl. A bit scratchy in spots and one skip on side two but definitely a keeper. Two pinholes in the corners means I had this hanging on the wall sometime.
