A compilation CD released in 1996 the same day as Hits. I remember looking at both in the store and bought this one because it had the better songs. Hits has songs from her earlier Folk period from the early 70’s with only 2 outside that time frame. Misses, which has some of her lesser known songs has only 3 from that period which I never liked as much as her Jazz influenced music from the late 70’s and her electronic and synthesizer work of the 80’s and on. The six songs from Dog Eat Dog, Chalk Mark In A Rainstorm and Night Ride Home are not my favorites from those albums but they are still good. Nice to have them because I don’t have the last two records anymore. “A Case Of You” from blue is pretty well known as is “Harry’s House/Centerpiece” one of my all time favorite Joni songs. Love the bass and horns and the piano on “Centerpiece”. “Hejira” is the title track of that record on the rarely listened to side one of that record. The awesome side two was played hundreds of times but side one hardly ever.
