A collection of BBC sessions most from John Peel’s show. Compiled by Cope himself these tracks are from the 80’s with one session from ’91 after the release of Peggy Suicide. This 1993 CD is another of the first CDs I bought. Many good songs on this one. “Hey High Class Butcher” is a rather dark track with a bit of electronica. That track was on a cassette I had called In Defense Of Animals put out by some kind of animal rights group. “Sunspots” and “Laughing Boy” are also good. Two of my favorites are “Pulsar” (can’t get that one out of my head) and “Double Vegetation”. The bizarre 8 minute “Soul Medley” incorporates lyrics by Funkadelic and The Mothers Of Invention. Liner notes tell the story of the break-up of his band The Teardrop Explodes and commentary about the sessions.
