Neil Young-After The gold Rush

This is Neils third album and the second made with the band Crazy Horse comprised of Ralph Molina, Billy Talbot and Danny Whitten. Nils Lofgren played piano on most of the tracks. Stephen Stills adds some background vocals. Released in 1970 this was another record owned by my friend’s older brother that we listened to a lot in the mid 70’s. Mostly Country and Folk tunes it does have two great rockers. This is a used one I bought at Vinyl Closet, the store at the end of Egypt Rd. off the Oaks exit on 422. The record and cover are in good shape. Looks to be an original pressing. We mostly listened to side one that has three of his most well known songs, “After The Gold Rush”, “Only Love Can Break Your Heart” and “Southern Man”. Some great jamming on “Southern Man” with Neil’s guitar and Lofgren’s piano. Side two has “Don’t Let It Bring You Down” and “When You Dance I Can Really Love” another great rocker with Jack Nitzsche playing piano. “Oh Lonesome Me” is a song written by Don Gibson. Every song on this record is good and this is one of my favorite Neil Young albums.
