Paul Westerberg-Stereo And Mono

Paul Westerberg was the leader of the Replacements until their break-up in 1991. I actually still have the CD of this I bought in 2002. This vinyl version came out On Record Store Day 2019 and is when I bought it. A two record set with a gatefold cover. As he explains in the liner notes the songs on record one were recorded in his home over a two year period and he made no attempt to fix any mistakes. One song “Don’t Want Never” stops abruptly because the tape ran out. The songs are all kind of Folky, some acoustic but all good. I liked “Let The Bad Times Roll” the best which is the last song listed on side two and is followed by two “hidden” tracks “Call That Gone” and “Postcards From Paradise”. Record two Grandpa Boy is kind of Westerberg’s alter ego and is recorded in mono. These songs are great, recorded with a four piece band and sounding like vintage Replacements. “Kickin’ The Stall” is on my playlist but any of these songs could be on there. Both the stereo and mono records sound great.
