A Progressive Rock supergroup this is their first record from 1978. John Wetton and Bill Bruford were in King Crimson when Robert Fripp disbanded the group in 1974. Eddie Jobson had been in Curved Air, Roxy Music and Frank Zappa’s band. Allan Holdsworth had been in Tempest, Gong and Soft Machine. ‘In The Dead Of Night” is the first part of a three song suite and was released as a single and is the best track on the record. The second part “By The Light Of Day” is a quieter part while part three “Presto Vivace/Reprise” sounds very Zappa-like before reprising the first part. Bruford’s drumming is excellent and Holdsworth’s Jazzy guitar style makes this record interesting. Wetton’s voice is good on “In The Dead Of Night” but not so much on the quieter tracks. The record and cover are in very good shape. Not sure when I bought this one.
