Ten Years After-The Collection

Another from The Collector Series. As always it’s a two record set with a gatefold cover and imported from England. A used one bought sometime in the early 90’s. Ten Years after are a Blues Rock and Boogie band from England. Again as usual there are no liner notes except song title, writer and copyright date. Some give a band history on the inside of the cover. About half of these tracks seem to be live but no information about where they are from. They do pack a lot of music on these records though with sides one and two over 30 minutes long. Most written by guitarist and singer Alvin Lee. Their performance of “I’m Going Home” was on the Woodstock soundtrack album as well as the movie. There is a live version of that song on here but not the one from Woodstock. There are some Blues classics like “Crossroads”, “Spoonful”, “I Can’t Keep From Crying Sometimes” and “Summertime”. Lots of long jams but as with all The Collector Series albums there are no times for the songs. “Boogie On” must be at least 10 to 15 minutes long with solos on guitar, bass, drums, and organ. The tracks are from the years 1967 to 1970 and does not include their hit “I’d Love To Change The World”.
