Another three record set with a tri-fold cover. This was recorded one night in October of 2016 in Oakland. I saw the Derek Trucks band in 2009 at the small festival in Johnstown Pa. and the Tedeschi Trucks band in 2013 and 2015. Great shows all of them and this concert is no exception. Derek and Susan and their large band have evolved into a great Jam Band with lots of soloing and great singing from Susan Tedeschi. With a healthy dose of songs from their 2016 release Let Me Get By they also give their take on some covers. The first record contains a song by Leonard Cohen as well as “Within You Without You” by The Beatles and Derek and the Dominoes “Keep On Growing”. “Don’t Drift Away” is a great Soul number written by the band and “These Walls” features a guest artist playing a sarod that sounds like a sitar. Side five has two old Blues songs “Leavin’ Trunk” and “I Pity The Fool”. Side six has a Miles Davis composition “Ali” and ends with “Let Me Get By”.
