Buffalo Springfield-Buffalo Springfield

Not sure what to call this album. This is a compilation titled Buffalo Springfield but that is also the title of their first record This two record set released in 1973 contains all the songs from Retrospective from 1969 plus 10 others. All their best songs are on this record. The big hit “For What It’s Worth”, Still’s wonderful “Sit Down,I Think I Love You”,Young’s “Mr. Soul”, and “Rock and Roll Woman”.It also has the 9 minute version of Steven Still’s “Bluebird” and Neil Young’s fractured “Broken Arrow”. “Kind Woman” an early Country Rock song was written by Richie Furay. “Questions” was incorporated in “Carry On” from C.S.N.&Y’s album Deja Vu. Neil Young sang “On the Way Home” in his solo spot on the live C.S.N.&Y. live album Four Way Street and Steven Stills included “Four Days Gone” and”Special Care” in his solo tour dates. After the break-up in 1968 Stills and Young teamed up with Crosby and Nash,Richie Furay and Jim Messina formed Poco with Messina later teaming up with Kenny Loggins. An important late sixties band some former members tried to reform the band later but were not very successful. I bought this record new in 1987 while living in Delaware.
