Strawbs-Grave New World

This 1972 album had the same personnel as the last record but with Blue Weaver taking the place of the departed Rick Wakeman who joined Yes. Side one has some of their better known songs. “Benedictus” and “Queen Of Dreams”, the later showing their more progressive direction they would take on later albums were played often on FM radio back then. “New World” about the trouble in Northern Ireland at the time was another one I heard on the radio. “Heavy Disguise” is a John Ford song with him accompanying himself on acoustic guitar with some brass arrangements added. I never listened to side two much but “Tomorrow” is the most Rock oriented song on the record with electric guitar and organ. “Ah Me Ah My” is another Tony Hooper song that sounds like it is from the 1920’s. The front cover has artwork from William Blake. It has a price sticker from Jeremiah’s, a record store that was in Wilmington in the 80’s.
