Sting-The Dream Of The Blue Turtles

Sting’s first solo album. One I originally bought in 1985 but sold it in 2013 along with a lot of my music for move in money for the house I rented in Mohnton. Bought this used on a few years ago. I always liked this record and its Jazzy sound. Using Jazz musicians Omar Hakim, Branford Marsalis, and Darryl Jones It’s a great mix of Pop and Jazz. The first single “If You Love Somebody”, my favorite on the album, was another video I watched many times on MTV when I was living in Hull. All the other songs are good. “Russians” and “We Work The Black Seam” deal with issues affecting the U.K. at the time. “Shadows In The Rain” is a reworking of the Police song. The album was nominated for a couple Grammys but didn’t win.
