The Smithereens are a band from New Jersey. This is their first album from 1986. They play a 60’s style Power Pop sounding at times like Marshall Crenshaw or Elvis Costello. Bought new in ’86 the first of three or four of their releases I had on vinyl,cassette or CD. This is all I have left but I may still have a CD of theirs. Side one of the album is Ok but side two is pretty good. The first three songs are the best “Behind The Wall Of Sleep”,”In A Lonely Place”, with vibraphone and background vocals by Susane Vega, and “Blood And Roses” heard on FM radio . All three were released as singles.
