Rush-All The World’s A Stage

This double live album was recorded at Massey Hall in Toronto on June of 1976 and released that same year. It’s a used one I bought about five years ago. A good collection of songs from their first four albums. Still mostly a hard rock album a couple of years before their more Progressive sound. Many of the tracks appeard on their ABC live album from 1974. “Working Man” is the longest song once again with Neil Peart’s drum solo longer and more varied. There is a cool spacey section in the 11 minute “By-Tor And The Snow Dog” that I like and may be my favorite part of the record. Most of the side long piece “2112” is played with some more awesome guitar work by Alec Lifeson. His guitar, along with Geddy Lee’s bass and high pitched vocals and Neal Peart’s improving drumming make this trio sound as full as any larger band.
