Renaissance-DeLane Lea Studios 1973

This is a live in studio recording at London’s DeLane Lea studio. Performed in front of some invited guests and broacast on the BBC.They play the entirety of the Ashes Are Burning album except for one song and two from the Prologue album. The songs are pretty close to the album versions with Annie Haslam hitting all the high notes perfectly. Nice to hear “Sounds Of The Sea” from the Prologue album one I used to own. Other highlights are “At The Harbour” and “Ashes Are Burning” with guests Andy Powell on guitar and Al Stewart on backing vocals. The concert closes with “Prologue” the title track of the first Mk II Renaissance line-up. The sound quality of the recording is good, unfortunately the record itself has lots of marks or smudges on it and lots of small scratches making it sound pretty bad in spots. A bad pressing for sure.
