Queen-A Night At The Odeon

This was recorded Christmas Eve 1975 at London’s Hammersmith Odean and broadcast live by the BBC. One of their most bootlegged shows it was officially released on Virgin Records in November of 2015. With a gatefold cover the two albums have pictures from the show on the record sleeves. The sound is not much better than bootleg quality but not too bad. Although Night At The Opera was released a few weeks before the show only a short version of Bohemian Rhapsody, really just the first verse, from that album was included in the concert. Side one has “Now I’m Here”,”Ogre Battle”,and
“White Queen”. ide two is a medley of “Bohemian Rhapsody””Killer Queen”,”The March Of The Black Queen”,and “Bring Back Leroy Brown” lasting about ten minutes. Brian May has a couple great guitar solos in “Brighton Rock” and “Liar” and “Keep Yourself Alive”. They also do a old Rock’n’Roll medley including “Big Spender”,”Jailhouse Rock”,and “Be Bop A Lula”. The show closes with “God Save The Queen that closed most of their concerts.
