David Bowie-David Bowie

Bowie’s second album from 1969. Called simply David Bowie as was his first record it was released as Man of Words/Man of Music in the U.S. and then changed to Space Oddity after it became a big U.S. hit in 1972. Still basically a solo album the songs are very wordy, one song featuring a full orchestra. “Space Oddity ” is the best song and became a classic rock staple. I don’t like the rest of the record except for “In Memory of a Free Festival” which I remember hearing on the radio in the early 70’s. This is a 2015 re-issue and has the original U.K. cover.
