Porcupine Tree-The Incident

This 2009 release is the last from this band as Steven Wilson started working on solo material and spent time remixing many classic Progressive albums. The title track is a 55 minute song cycle in 14 parts on the first three sides of this double album. Not sure what it’s all about but the lyrics are on the inside of the gatefold cover. Side four has four tracks not related to “The Incident”. A little heavier than their last couple of records but not really what I would call Progressive. I’ve listened to side one a couple of times and thought it was pretty good especially “The Blind House”. “Time Flies” on side two is a standout track and the longest on the record at over 11 and a half minutes. There are a few short instrumentals that are interesting but I didn’t think the four songs on side four were too good. The band reformed in 2021 and put out a record earlier this year.
