Pavement was a low-fi Indie band active in the 90’s. They put out five albums and many EPs. This two record set first released on CD in 2002 came out on vinyl in 2015. This album is a collection of singles,outakes, alternate takes,two Peel sessions from 1992 and 15 live tracks from a show in London opening for Sonic Youth in 1992. Many of the songs were from their first record Slanted And Enchanted which came out in ’92. First time listening to all four sides and they all sound pretty good. I had three or four of their releases on cassette and quite a few of them made it on to some of my Rock and Roll Tunes mix tpes I made back then. Guitarist and chief songwriter Stephen Malkmus had his own band The Jicks after they broke up. They had reunion tours in 2010 and 2022. Matador records says there will be similar albums covering all of their five records.
