Joni Mitchell-The Hissing Of Summer Lawns

This one came out in 1975 and is my second favorite Joni Mitchell album. Again bought used in ’86 or ’87. Some of the songs are quite different han her usual songs. “The Jungle Line” features some African drums sapled throughout the song with almost a World Music sound. “Shadows And Light” has her playing and ARP synthesizer were her overdubbed voice. That song is one I taped of the radio back then. I don’t like the song as much now as I did then. Side one was the one I listened to most with “In France They Kiss On Main Street” and “Edith And The Kingpin” being two really good songs. Sid two is also good and has one of my favorite Joni songs “Harry’s House/Centerpiece” which includes the Jazz standard “Centerpiece” with Joe Sample of The Jazz Crusaders playing a nice piano solo.
