Melanie-Stoneground Words

Original

I bought this in 1972 and is another of my first records. Not sure if I bought this at the store or from the Colombia Hous Record Club. I always liked her 1970 hit “Lay Down” which she performed at Woodsock and was in the movie. Her song “Brand New Key” was used in the film Boogie Nights. She had a couple of other hits before this record was released. I had a best of Melanie album at one time. I don’t remember listeing to this much and probably haven’t listened to it in over 40 years. The only song that sounded familiar to me was “Together Alone”. Listenng to it now it doesn’t sound too bad. I liked “Do You Believe?” quite a bit and her cover of Pete Seeger’s “Rainbow Race” is pretty good too. The album came with five album sized photos of her,two are left. I remember one hanging in my bedroom for a while.
