Little Feat-Sailin’ Shoes

Little feat was founded by Lowell George and Roy Estrada who had been with Frank Zappa’s Mothers Of Invention. Bill Payne and Ritchie Haywood rounded out the band. This is their second album from 1972 and the first with a cover by Neon Park who did all the rest of their album covers. “Easy To Slip” is a good song to start off the record as is the next song “Cold,Cold,Cold”.It and “Tripe Face Boogie” were later re-recorded as a medley on their Feats Dont Fail Me Now record. “Willin'” is a song covered by almost everyone(I have three versions of it on albums in my collection) ans was also on their first record. This version is a little slower. Side two has two songs I first heard on other records, “Teenage Nervous Breakdown” was on Nazareth”s Loud and Proud album and “Sailin’ Shoes was part of the great medley on Robert Palmer’s first album. “Got No Shadow” is a good song by Bill Payne and “Cat Fever” is a Blues song while “Texas Rose Cafe” has more of a Country sound. Roy Estrada left after this record to join Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band. They added new members with the band changing direction a bit. This is a used record I bought sometime in the 80’s. The cover and record are in fair shape. No skips.
