This is a two record package on gold vinyl. 13 songs paired down from a 6 CD box set. Most of these bands were familiar to me and were all active in the late 60’s to early 70’s. This came out in 2020 and as usual I listened to only the first side when I bought it. The first song “I Am And So Are You” a Lindisfarne cover by Affinity is also covered by Capeability Brown on their Voices album that I have. Also on side one is a cover of “Classical Gas” by a band called Deep Feeling with a nice jam at the end. “Moeris,Dancing” on side two is from Fred Frith’s Avant-Garde band Art Bears with some cool percussion.Side three has a song by Scottish band Beggars Opera hat I had a CD of. Side four consists of a 22 minute piece by German electronic band Kluster called “Lectric Music Und Texte”.Mostly electronic repetitive drone sounds with spoken word in German between sections,unusual but my least favorite on the record. All the rest sound pretty good and will require more listening.
