I probably had 25 or 30 soundtracks on cassette. This was one of my favorites. This first time on vinyl release came out in 2017.Never saw the movie but there are some great songs on here many written especially for the movie.Featuring mostly groups from the Seattle area, this soundtrack helped launch the Grunge scene in 1992 when the movie and soundtrack came out. Songs by Alice In Chains,Pearl Jam,Soundgarden,and Mudhoney are non album tracks and very good. There are also good songs by Screaming Trees,Smashing Pumpkins,the great “Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns” by Mother Love Bone and a cover of “The Battle Of Evermore” by The Lovemongers, a sometime band of Ann and Nancy Wilson. There is also a song from Jimi Hendiix’s first record and two by Paul Westerberg although I don’t know why ,he’s from Minneapolis.Put on any one of the four sides and you will hear good songs from the Grunge scene.
