King Crimson-In The Wake Of Poseidon

Their second album from 1970. Already some line-up changes as this band would be constantly have members leaving to join other bands like Bad Company,Foreigner, and Asia. Guitarist Robert Fripp and lyricist Pete Sinfield. Singer Greg Lake and the rhythm section of Peter and Michael Giles had already left the band but made this last record with Fripp. The title track is much like the title track of their first record, maybe meant to be a companion piece. “Pictures Of A City” is rather harsh a trademark of the band with Lake’s vocals singing Sinfields often surreal lyrics. It is followed by the lovely “Cadance and Cascade” with flute played by Mel Collins. Side two is comprised mostly by the strange “Cat Food” and the 11 minute instrumental “The Devil’s Triangle” that I never liked very much. This is a used record I bought about thirty years ago. Obviously a vintage release it’s in pretty good shape.
