The first album from this British band. Released in 1979 at the time when Punk was king in the U.K. this is much darker than any Punk band.Their heavy bass and drum sound is augmented with sound effects,digital delay,and echo. It did not sell very well when it was first released but now is highly regarded as a landmark album with Ian Curtis’s singing being an example of Goth. I had all four of their Official releases on cassette as well as their four CD box set. This is a re-release from 2007.
