Keith Jarrett-Expectations

This is from 1972 and his only album for Colombia Records as he was released from his contract after this album. This is one I had on cassette and was very happy to find this record at a store near Oaks that I like to visit once or twice a year.$8 for this double album with the cover and records in very good shape. One of my favorites by him this had his usual American quartet of Charlie Hayden,Paul Motian, and Dewey Redman with help from Sam Brown on guitar and Arito Moreira on percussion. There are many styles on this record from the Funky Jazz Rock Fusion of “Common Mama”,and “Take Me Back” to the Avant-Garde of “The Circular Letter(For J.K.)” to the Gospel sounding “There Is A Road(God’s River)” with an uncredited string section on this and two other tracks. The 17 minute “Nomads” on side three has some nice sections with Motian’s drums,Moreira’s percussion and Hayden’s bass.
