A covers album from Iron And Wine ,which is the moniker Sam Beam uses, and Ben Bridwell from Band of Horses. It,s an interesting selection of covers most of which I knew the originals. It starts of with the Talking Heads song “This Must Be The Place(Naive Melody)” Also on side one are songs by Bonnie Raitt,Ronnie Lane,John Cale,”Bulletproof Soul” by Sade sounding as soulful as the original and David Gilmore’s “There’s No Way Out Of Here”. Although I bought this record in 2015 when it was released I had only listened to side one a few times. Side two is also pretty good with songs by Spiritualized,Marshall Tucker Band and”Magnolia” by J.J. Cale that I knew from Poco’s cover of it.Also on this side are two songs I had never heard of “Coyote” by Peter La Farge and “God Knows(You Gotta Give To Get)” by Sarah Assbring. The songs are mostly acoustic based with Beam and Bridwell harmonizing on some of the songs. The cover painting is called “Lets Go For A Beer” and the back cover shows Beam and Bridwell doing just that.
