Ian & Sylvia-Play One More

This record is from 1966 and one I paid ten dollars for. Another good record with some more up tempo pop songs with organ like Sylvia’s “Gifts Are For Giving” and the Bacharach/David song “24 Hours From Tulsa”. They also cover a Phil Ochs tune and one by Scott McKenzie. “Molly And Tenbrooks” has some banjo by Eric Weisberg. “The French Girl” has strings arranged by Felix Pappalardi who later worked with Cream. He also plays bass on many of the tracks. This is also in very good condition and sounds really good. On Vanguard records it is a new recording process called Stereolab that they used. I wonder if that’s where that band got there name. There is a small catalogue inside listing Folk records on Vanguard. The price is $4.79 for mono recordings and $5.79 for the Stereolab recordings. Both of the records I have by them have two small holes were the price tags were stapled to the record something they did in the 60’s.
