Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers-Rehab Reunion

This is the third or fourth record with his band the Noisemakers from 2016. Hornsby trades in his piano for the dulcimer on this record. I do have their live album on CD. This is another one I bought, probably in 2017, that I have not listened to yet. With a new writing partner the songs seem less personal than the ones he wrote with his brother John on his albums with The Range. Songs range from “TSA Man”,”M.I.A. in Miami” that has a Garcia like guitar solo,”Hey Kafka” and “Tipping” a song about what to tip in eating establishments. One song “Tropical Cashmere Sweater” is co-written with Robert Hunter. Some tracks have a Bluegrass sound to them like “Rehab Reunion” and, the best song on the record, a remake of “The Valley Road” from his second record from 1988. The nearly 7 minute song has some jamming with mandolin and dulcimer. The record comes with a lyric sheet with a crossword puzzle with some clues pertaining to the record.
