Jimi Hendrix-The Cry Of Love

The first posthumous album released in 1971.With some complete tracks for a fourth album other unfinished songs were mixed and overdubbed by Eddie Kramer and Mitch Mitchell. Hendrix had proposed a double album and some other songs were released on Rainbow Bridge later that year. The Cry of Love has some great songs like “Freedom”,one I had on one of my early mix tapes that I taped off the radio,”Ezy Ryder”,”Angel”,”Night Bird Flying”,and the instrumental “Drifting”. Other songs like “My Friend” and “Belly Button Window” sound like throwaways added to complete the record. I bought this on cassette sometime in the 90’s. This vinyl edition is a 2014 reissue by Experience Hendrix the company started by his father and now run by Jimi’s stepsister that has the rights to everything connected to Jimi.
