Guided By Voices is a band from Ohio who play short songs in a variety of styles.They have put out over 30 albums and EP’s ,the main singers and songwriters being Robert Pollard and sometime member Tobin Sprout. Falling in the Indie or Lo-Fi genre this record was produced by Ric Ocasek in 1999 and some of the songs have a Cars like sound to them and seem over produced compared to their other more Lo-Fi efforts.With most of their songs around the two minute mark or less(although there are some longer ones on this record with one even over 4 minutes) there are 16 songs on this record. Some Of the songs I like are the ballad “Hold On Hope” Surgical Focus”,”Strumpet Eye” and “Liquid Indian”. I had this on CD and had 4 or 5 of their others on cassette.This vinyl copy was released about six years ago and is on yellow semi-transparent vinyl.
