Grand Funk Railroad-Mark,Don & Mel

original

This is compilation album of songs from their first six records. Another one of my earliest records bought in 1972. I always liked side one the best with three great songs from their first record,”Time Machine”,Heartbreaker”,and “Into The Sun” and Dave Mason’s “Feelin’ Alright”from the Survival album.Side four(which is backed by side one) has their cover of The Animals “Inside Looking Out” which is a 9 minute hard rocking jam and “Closer To Home”.The second record (Sides two and three) I didn’t listen to very much.Side three has three songs from their live album. Side two has “Footstompin’ Music and “Loneliness”,that has some orchestration at the end, from E Pluribus Funk and “Paranoid” from their second record. Another record ,like Closer To Home, that suffered from the water damage at Franklin St.The cover is in bad shape.Record one sounds OK,a little scratchy, but record two has what looks like mold on it and is pretty much unplayable. One for the reject pile. I will be looking for used copies of their first two records which have the best songs on this compilation from them.
