Golden Earring-Rock Sensation

Original

Rock Sensation is a series of Classic Rock compilations on the Karussell label from Germany. It’s another import I bought in 1975 when it was released. There is an amazing 64 minutes of music on this single record making it the longest record I own.Because the grooves are so close together it is more easily damaged and there are some bad spots and a couple of skips on this record. One corner of the cover was chewed by a puppy we had for a while in the first apartment I lived in.Still one I will keep as there are some songs not on any other of their records I own. Most of them are from 1969-1972. There are two songs from ’73’s Moontan,”Radar Love” and “Candy’s Going Bad” and one “Kill Me(Ce Soir)” from Switch which came out in ’75. There are three from the Hearing Earring compilation including “She Flies On Strange Wings” but only the first part.”Buddy Joe” is a ’72 single and “I Sing My Song ” from ’69 is sung by George Kooymans and really doesn’t sound like Golden Earring a all.”Song Of The Devil’s Servant” from 1970 has a nice long flute and percussion intro and “The Song Is Over” is a good ballad also from 1970.A really good collection of 14 songs from their earlier period.
