Fugazi is a Punk/Hardcore band from the D.C. area. This is a record of the first demos they made in 1988. Leader Ian McKaye is the founder of the “Straight Edge” movement a group of musicians that don’t use drugs or alcohol.The term comes from the song “Straight Edge” from his former band Minor Threat.Also much of a DIY band they turned down many offers to sign with major record companies,putting out releases on their own Dischord label. The songs on this record are pretty rough but show the promise of this band. Most of these songs would be re-worked to appear on later albums. This record was released in 2014 when I bought it.
