I knew nothing about this band when I bought the record in 2016. A double album at a reasonable price,I bought it at Barnes & Noble using my 10% off membership card I had at the time.After reading the liner notes I saw that Glen Hansard was the leader of the band. I knew him from staring in the movie Once that I saw and liked the music in it. Upon listening to the record,a compilation of this Irish bands favorite songs, I was disappointed. Hansard sings in a high sometimes whispering voice and most of the songs are just boring.I really didn’t like any of the 17 songs on the record.To make matters worse the record has some defects,lots of scratchyness and pops. Reject pile.
