This is a tribute album to Woody Guthrie that came out in 2012. The four artists,Jay Farrar,Will Johnson,Anders Parker,and Jim James took Guthrie’s lyrics and set them to their own music. The result is an interesting record of Folk Rock in each artists style.This is the first time listening to this record.When I bought a record on Record Store Day last August I was told to pick a free record from a box of records in paper bags so you couldn’t see what they were. This is the one I picked,a pretty good record. At first listen I liked “Fly High” by Parker,”Talking Empty Bed Blues” by James,and “Chorine My Sheba Queen”by Johnson. I had a similar record on cassette called Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg and Wilco that came out in 1998.
