Emerson,Lake & Palmer-Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends

original

This three record set was released in 1974. I listened to sides 1,3,and 6. Side one starts with “Hoedown” played slightly faster then on the studio record, followed by the first two tracks from Brain Salad Surgery “Jerusalem” and “Toccata”. Side two has the last part of Tarkus that includes a long keyboard solo and the beginning of “Take A Pebble” that stops in the middle for Lake to perform “Still… You Turn Me On” and “Lucky Man” acoustically. Side two is the last two impressions on “Karn Evil 9”. The sound is good and the three musicians are very talented. This album is one I bought used about 15 years ago. The records are in good shape,no skips, but the cover is not so good. The spine is starting to rip. I was never a fan of the design of this album,it’s flimsy and hard to handle.Around 1980 my good friend joined the Air Force and I told him he could pick three of my records to take with him. My original record was one of his picks. Greg Lake and Keith Emerson both died in 2016,Lake from cancer and Emerson took his own life.
