E.L.O. was formed in 1970 by members of the British psychedelic/Pop band The Move. Roy Wood,Bev Bevan, and Jeff Lynn who joined The Move in 1969 were the leaders of both bands at the same time until The Move called it quits in 1972. Roy wood left after the second E.L.O. album to start his own group Wizard, leaving Jeff Lynn in control. This is their third record from 1973. The four tracks on side one are a continuous suite but on the U.S. version of the record “Showdown” was added as the last track on side one. That song and “Ma- Ma -Ma-Belle are the best song on the record and were released as singles. “Dreaming of 4000” is also pretty good while the rest of the record is heavy on the strings and orchestration closing with a rendition of the Classical “Hall Of The Mountain King”. This is a record I bought used about three years ago, cover and record are in very good shape.
