Eagles-The Long Run

The Follow up to Hotel California from 1979. Similar in style it did not sell as well. This is another one I had on cassette, taped off the radio. I played this a lot in 79-80 when I was renting a house in the Woodlawn Trustees section of Wilmington. Again the record yielded three singles, the title track,”I Can’t Tell You Why”,and “Heartache Tonight” which like “New Kid In Town” I got sick of hearing on the radio. Joe Walsh’s “In The City” was recorded by Walsh earlier in the year on the soundtrack of the film The Warriors and later re-recorded with the Eagles. Walsh also plays some “talk box” guitar on “Those Shoes”,all the rage back then after Peter Framptons use of it on his live album.Walsh ,of course, used the effect on his song “Rocky Mountain Way” years before. “The Disco Strangler” and “King Of Hollywood” are also pretty good songs. This vinyl record is also an original pressing I bought about two or three years ago for $4. The cover is kind of wavy, like it got wet or damp at one time, otherwise the cover and record are in good shape. They broke up after this but reformed in the mid 90’s putting out a new record in 2007. I don’t think I have ever heard a song from that record.
