Slim Dunlap-The Old New Me

Slim Dunlap is a Minneapolis native and was the replacement for The Replacements guitarist Bob Stinson who was kicked out of the band. Slim played on their last two records. This record was paired with his second solo record in a two record set on vinyl for the first time. A Record Store Day release from 2015. The Old New Me from 1993 is a good old Rock and Roll record with a little Rockabilly thrown in. Side one is all good especially “Isn’t It” and “Partners In Crime”.”The Ballad Of The Opening Band” could be a companion piece of the Drive-By-Truckers “The Opening Act”. The record closes with Jazzy instrumental called “Love Lost”.
