Drive-By-Truckers-This Weekend’s The Night

This is a live recording from the Fillmore in San Francisco over a three night stand in Nov. 2014. Celebrating their 20th anniversary and the release of English Oceans this tour is the last time I saw the band in concert. This release came in a five record box set called It’s Great To Be Alive containing all the songs played,(35 total)but at close to 100 dollars it was a bit pricey. This two record set has 13 highlights from the shows and I have a digital copy of the five record set. Great live as always with their three guitar attack with some guests on horns for some songs. This record features a song from Hood and Cooley’s Adam’s Housecat days “Runaway Train”,their band before forming DBT. A song they did not play when I saw them. There are also intense run throughs of “Putting People On The Moon”,one of Hood’s angriest working man songs, and “Goode’s Field Road”. Of course “A World Of Hurt” is always a highlight and the record closes with a 13 minute “Grand Canyon” with a long jam at the end.
