The first album from this British trio from 1985. It’s kind of a dreamy Folk/Pop/Rock sound. Kate St John is in the bad and her oboe and cor anglais playing has been featured on many of my records. “Life In A Northern Town” was a big hit and another video I watched on MTV that led me to buy the record.”The Edge Of Forever” also on side one was in the movie “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off”. Side two has three songs that I like”Moving On”,”The Love Parade”,and “One Dream” that sound like Sade,St. Etienne, and Everything But The Girl. Overall the record is very 80’s sounding, also sounding like China Crisis to me. Reading the liner notes I see there are many guests playing on the record including Dave Mattocks,David Gilmore, and Peter Buck. They put out two more records but I have never seen them and wouldn’t buy one if I did.
