Donovan-Greatest Hits

original

This record came out in 1969. I did not buy it but I know I had it when I was in High School. It just appeared in my collection one day. Perhaps it got mixed in with some of my records I took to a friends house. I really can’t remember where it came from. Nevertheless it’s a great record with all his best songs on it. I played this a lot back then especially side one with songs like “Epistle To Dippy”,”There Is A Mountain”,”Wear Your Love Like Heaven”,and “Season Of The Witch”. Side two has “Colors” and “Hurdy Gurdy Man”. This Scottish singer was often compared to Dylan. He may not be the writer Dylan is but he is definetly the better singer. Many of his songs were psychedelic in nature and he was seen as the epitome of a hippie singer. The record is 50 years old and still sounds great. No skips.
