This CD features 6 German bands. These tracks were recorded between ’72-’74 in and around Cologne, Germany home of one of my favorite Krautrock bands Can. The inside of the small booklet list the German bands from various German cities. I have heard of all of them but not these six. According to the liner notes these bands released very limited records sold in art galleries and never got any attention. Of all the members listed in these bands the only one I recognized is Zeus B Held of Temple. He was later in Birth Control. I had one of their CDs. Temple has two songs on this CD “Leaves Are Falling” and “Black Light”. These are more traditional Rock songs and the only two with vocals by someone named Poseiden and Pauline Fund. I guess my favorites were two by Cozmic Corridors, a Gothic sounding instrumental called “Dark Path” and “Niemand Versteht” with some spacey synths and guitar with Pauline Fund speaking in German. The last two tracks, the longest at 18 and 14 minutes are more ambient sounding, the first “Lunarscape” with three synthesizers the other “Ganz Du Willst” with one synthesizer and two guitars. An OK collection. I had many CDs of Krautrock music but were all sold. Wish I could find a vinyl collection with some of the more well known bands on it.
