Various Artists-Trance Europe Express

Weather you call this Trance, Techno, Ambient, EDM, or Drum & Bass this music is all electronic. From the makers of Volume Magazine this 2 disc CD came out in 1993. Volume Magazine was from England and came with a 192 booklet and a CD. The booklet had interviews and bios of the artists on the CD plus other related articles. All very British. They came out every three or four months in the early 90’s. The first in September on ’91 and the final volume in January of ’97. They were sold at Tower Records and I bought four or five there when I was living in Philly. I don’t have them anymore, I must have thrown them out in one of my moves, although not before making a CD of my favorite songs from the CDs. I don’t have the booklet for this CD, must have got lost. Disc one has some cool music. “Semi-Detached” by Orbital is laid back and spacey. Bandulu’s “Gravity Pool” has some good electronic drums. “Persuasion” by Spooky has some soulful vocals by Billie Ray Martin. “Desir” is another good one from System 7 featuring Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy from Gong. “Space Track” by Cosmik Baby has some nice keyboard work. Disc 2 which I didn’t listen to has tracks by The Orb, The Drum Club, Moby and Sabers Of Paradise. I had cassettes of many of the bands on these CDs. I also have Volume 2 of Trans Europe Express. These have good examples of the electronic music of the early 90’s.
