Luna-Live

This is a really great CD and one I have listened to often. Recorded at the 9:30 Club in D.C. and The Knitting Factory in NYC. Of the 14 tracks half are from the show at the 9:30 club in December of ’99 featuring original bassist Justin Harwood. The shows at The Knitting Factory, from July of 2000, have new bass player Britta Phillips. I like every song on here. Some of my favorites are “Pup Tent”, “Sideshow By The Seashore”, “Tiger Lily” and “Lost In Space” which borrows a lot from The Velvet Underground’s “Sweet Jane”. “23 Minutes In Brussels” has a nice long jam with the twin guitars of Dean Wareham and Sean Eden. Another track I really like is “Bonnie & Clyde” written by Serge Gainsbourg in 1968 and originally recorded by him and Brigit Bardot. Dean and Britta trade lines singing in French. This was released on vinyl with a limited edition of 2500 with four extra tracks. Love to get one but used ones on Discogs start at $100.
