Jars Of Clay-Jars Of Clay

A Christian band from Knoxville they play Alternative and Acoustic Rock. They employ acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin, viola and cello on most tracks. Really like this CD . This and their second album were in my wife’s car for a while and were played constantly so I was very familiar with these songs, singing along with some of them. Two of my favorite tracks “Liquid” and “Floods” were produced by Adrian Belew. I first heard “Flood” on WXPN in ’95 while driving from East Greenville to West Reading on my way home from work. It was a hit on Christian radio as well as Mainstream radio. “Sinking” is very good as well as “Boy On A String”. There is a hidden track “4:7”, the verse in Corinthians about Jars of Clay, after two minutes of silence followed by 18 minutes of the recording session of “Blind”. I haven’t heard this CDs since the early 2000’s and it was good hearing it again. I will listen to their second CD tomorrow.
