Inspiral Carpets-The Singles

Inspiral Carpets were part of The Madchester scene in the early 90’s. These were originally released on their own Cow label with catalogue numbers Dung 1… etc. Tracks are from their first four albums from ’90 to ’94. I had cassettes of their third and fourth albums Revenge Of The Goldfish and Devil Hopping. This is 60’s style Pop and Psychedelic Pop. The dominate instrument is Clint Boon’s Farfisa organ. Great harmony vocals by Boon and singer Tom Hingley. Everyone of these 19 songs are good especially “Generations”, “Dragging Me Down”, “Two Worlds Collide”, “This Is How It Feels”, “Sackville” and “Uniform”. The songs are listed on the back of the CD but they are not in the playing order which are chronological making it hard to tell which song is playing. Really like this CD. They broke up after it’s release and got back together in 2003.
