The Geraldine Fibbers-Butch

The second and final album from this L.A. based band. They play Indie style music with a bit of Punk, Country and noise and experimental tracks. I have their first CD but decided to listen to this one from 1997. Carla Bozulich plays guitar and provides most of the vocals. Violinist Jessey Green and lead guitarist also sing. “I Killed The Cuckoo” and “Toybox” have a definite Punk sound while “Folks Like Me” and “Pet Angel” are Alt-Country. “Seven Or In 10” has a Sonic Youth sound. “Trashman In Furs” is more a basic Rock song and one I put on one of my cassette mix tapes. The title track “Butch” is a more mellow track with a nice intro. “Heliotrope” is an instrumental with some Noise Rock and experimental sounds. They even do a cover of Can’s “You Doo Right”. Another good CD with different styles of music. Members have since gone on to other projects.
